More snow, more shoveling, more visits from our owl friend. He (the owl) watches us from his favorite perch. He can scan the whole layout from where he sits…the house, the chicken coop ( no doubt that is what he’s most interested in), the greenhouses. He doesn’t fly away when we are out working. He remains still, turning his head ever so slightly, to keep us in view. I’m glad he’s here. I’m o.k. with more snow. The shoveling?…keeps us fit.

Mother Nature’s winter fitness plan. š
you got it, Judy!
I noticed our owl when I was out shoveling yesterday, too… and we haven’t got a chicken coop. Maybe owls like to compare notes on how their crazy humans think they can win against Mother Nature, and spend hours moving snow around, only to have it blow back, or more fall. š I bet we are the joke of the owl community. š
Yes, leave it to those wise old owls to sit and take notes on the antics of silly humans…shoveling again, and again, and again. No real snow in the near future, the snowshoeing has been awesome!!
Hurrah! We finally finished all the shoveling we intend to do with the current snow on Sunday. So glad to have a spell of no more snow. š
I love those blue shadows on the snow. Stay snug and safe!
Thank you, Marion. The woodstove is doing its job, plenty of food in the freezer and pantry and the seed catalogs lay open on the table for scanning and planning. All is well here in the snowy north!
Still some nice cold snowy days left in winter. Nice photos.
Lately some glorious sun as well, the afternoons have been perfect for outdoor adventure!
I’m ready for a break from the snow.
Hang in there..gardening season right around the corner!!
I wish an owl would come and hang out at my house! I did see a pheasant yesterday . . .
So lovely to have the presence of an owl so close by, almost like having a resident Tomten….maybe we have a Tomten too and we haven’t seen him yet!
The snow sure does photograph beautifully. I do remember my quickening heartbeat whenever shovelling it. Working up a sweat while breathing in the fresh, crisp air always did feel like a healthy workout.
Lovely photos. Isn’t this sun and snow combination wonderful?
