In the spring we enjoy the wonderful blooms of the woodland peonies. In the fall, we are amazed by the brilliance of their seeds and seed pods. As we collect seed from the many woodland plants we grow here at Fernwood, we find the diversity of color and texture of the seeds to be quite remarkable, each plant having its own design. Nature……truly amazing and always full of wonder.

I have that woodland peony in my garden. Can I plant the seeds and grow babies?
Donna
Oh, my! I had no idea! Those are so very beautiful and exotic looking. My memory is that it is a pretty arduous process to get from those seeds to actual blooming plants, though. Is that correct?
Yes, a little work and know how but fun and exciting process. Happy High Summer to you Kerry…from a very ‘too busy to blog much’ friend! So good to hear from you!
Lovely colors. Interesting seeds.
How weird, lie arums, but even more colorful. There is a native iris that does that, probably to get birds to transmit the seed.
(‘like’ arums)
